To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, Techland released a premium bundle for Dying Light 2. This project presented an interesting challenge in bringing a western atmosphere to DL2, but we had to be careful about certain franchise-related specifics. The most notable being the lack of firearms in the game. I chose a simple structure, starting with a cinematic intro made with internal cutscene tools and taking place in the well-known in-world bar. This is then followed by a showcase of the bundle items and gameplay that presents them in action. The two greatest challenges were to make sure this trailer wouldn’t be accidentally misinterpreted as introducing firearms into the game, and finding the sweet spot between typical western elements and core components of the DL2 brand and gameplay.
